Ingredients
2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
1 cup your favorite BBQ sauce
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp paprika
Salt and pepper to taste
(Optional) 1 tsp olive oil if searing
Instructions
1. Pat chicken dry with paper towels to help seasoning stick.
2. Lightly season both sides with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
3. Oven method: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Place chicken in a baking dish, coat generously with BBQ sauce, and bake 25–30 minutes, basting once or twice near the end until chicken reaches 165°F (74°C).
4. Slow cooker method: Place chicken in slow cooker, pour BBQ sauce over, and cook on low 3–4 hours or high 2–3 hours. For shredded chicken, pull apart with two forks once tender.
5. Grill method: Preheat grill to medium-high heat. Grill chicken 5–7 minutes per side, basting with BBQ sauce during last few minutes. Ensure internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
6. Let chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving to keep it juicy.
Notes
For a spicy version, add hot sauce or red pepper flakes to your BBQ sauce.
For sweet tang, stir in honey or apple cider vinegar.
Add smoked paprika for deeper smoky flavor.
