Description

A quick and healthy breakfast of crispy bread topped with perfectly cooked eggs, made easily in an air fryer.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 slices of bread
  • 2 large Grade A eggs
  • Salted butter (spreadable and at room temperature)
  • Kosher salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Using a sturdy glass, press down in the center of each bread slice to create a well for the egg.
  2. Butter each slice of bread generously with room-temperature salted butter.
  3. Place a rack in your air fryer basket and spray it with oil to prevent sticking.
  4. Crack one egg into a small dish, then pour it into the well of one slice of bread; repeat with the second egg.
  5. Sprinkle kosher salt and pepper on the eggs for extra flavor.
  6. Set the air fryer to 375℉ and cook for 6 minutes for runny yolks, adding a minute or two for firmer yolks.
  7. Carefully remove the egg toast from the air fryer using a spatula and serve.

Notes

Use thicker slices of bread for better structure. Feel free to add toppings like cheese, herbs, or cooked bacon for variety.
