Warm, gooey cinnamon rolls topped with decadent cream cheese frosting, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup softened butter (for filling)
  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter (for caramel sauce)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (for caramel sauce)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast by mixing warm milk with the yeast and letting it sit for about 5 minutes until bubbly.
  2. Mix the dry ingredients: Combine flour, granulated sugar, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Combine ingredients by adding melted butter, egg, and the yeast mixture, stirring until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth. Let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
  5. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread softened butter on top, and sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.
  7. Roll the dough tightly, slice into 12 pieces, and set aside.
  8. Prepare caramel sauce by melting butter and mixing in brown sugar and vanilla, then pour into a baking dish.
  9. Place the cinnamon rolls on top of the caramel sauce and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  10. Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Frost the warm rolls with a mixture of cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth and creamy.
