- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups white sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 3/4 cup confectioners’ sugar for decoration
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a small bowl, stir together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and baking powder.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened unsalted butter and white sugar until smooth and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract until well combined.
- Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until fully mixed.
- Roll rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls and place on ungreased cookie sheets.
- Dip the bottom of a glass in confectioners’ sugar and flatten each ball slightly.
- Bake for about 8 to 10 minutes or until the edges are golden and the centers are soft.
- Remove from the oven and let cool on wire racks before serving.
Notes
Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for about a week. For longer storage, freeze the cookies for up to three months.
