- 1 Cup granulated white sugar (200 grams)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 1 egg
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3 cups all-purpose flour (360 grams)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350° F (175° C).
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together 1 cup of unsalted butter and 1 cup of granulated sugar until smooth and creamy, about 3 minutes.
- Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, 1/2 teaspoon of almond extract, and 1 egg; mix until combined.
- In a separate bowl, combine 2 teaspoons of baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and 3 cups of all-purpose flour.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until a dough forms. Knead by hand if necessary.
- Roll out the cookie dough on a lightly floured surface to 1/4 inch thickness.
- Cut out shapes with cookie cutters and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 6-8 minutes until the edges are lightly golden.
- Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack.
