Description
A fun and flavorful twist on the classic Sloppy Joe, blending zesty Cajun flavors with tender ground chicken.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground chicken
- 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
- 1 bell pepper, diced
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Burger buns
- Optional toppings: pickles, coleslaw, or cheese
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat your stove to medium. Add 1 pound of ground chicken to the skillet and cook for about 5 to 7 minutes or until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
- Add the diced bell pepper, onion, and minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for 3 to 5 minutes until tender and fragrant.
- Add the Cajun seasoning, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper to the skillet, stirring well to combine.
- Lower the heat and let the mixture simmer for about 10 minutes to meld flavors.
- Spoon the chicken mixture onto burger buns, adding optional toppings like pickles, coleslaw, or cheese as desired. Serve and enjoy!
Notes
Adjust the Cajun seasoning based on your spice preference. Try adding other veggies like corn or mushrooms for added texture and nutrition. Toast the burger buns lightly before serving for a nice crispness.
