Ingredients
Scale
- 1 large head of cabbage
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your favorite blend)
- Optional: chopped fresh herbs like parsley or chives for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Cut the cabbage into 1-inch thick slices to create ‘steaks’, keeping the core intact.
- Place the cabbage steaks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Drizzle olive oil over each steak, then sprinkle with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Roast in the preheated oven for about 25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and tender.
- Remove from the oven and sprinkle shredded cheese over the steaks. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let cool for a couple of minutes, garnish with fresh herbs if desired, and serve warm.
Notes
For variation, try different types of cheese or add toppings like bacon bits, diced tomatoes, or jalapeños for extra flavor.
