Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In another bowl, beat the softened butter along with the brown sugar and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing in the vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
  5. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  6. Gently stir in the chocolate chips.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them about two inches apart.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes until the edges are golden but the centers remain soft.
  9. Allow the cookies to cool slightly before transferring them to wire racks.

Notes

For a chewier texture, consider chilling the dough for 30 minutes before baking. You can also substitute semi-sweet chocolate chips with milk or dark chocolate.
