Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, divided
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease or line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the melted butter and brown sugar, mixing well.
  4. Add the egg, honey, and vanilla extract, whisking until blended.
  5. Stir in the all-purpose flour, salt, and ½ teaspoon of ground cinnamon until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
  7. Mix the granulated sugar with the remaining ½ teaspoon of ground cinnamon and sprinkle over the batter.
  8. Bake for 22–25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow to cool completely before cutting into squares.

Notes

Store in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days at room temperature, or refrigerate for a week. Can be frozen for up to 3 months.
