Ingredients

  • 2 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fresh chopped parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prep the chicken by slicing each breast in half horizontally or pounding to an even thickness. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat and sear the chicken for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  3. Lower the heat, add butter to the skillet, and sauté minced garlic until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  4. Pour in the heavy cream, stir to deglaze the pan, and add Parmesan cheese. Allow the mixture to simmer and thicken slightly.
  5. Return the chicken to the skillet and let it simmer in the sauce for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through and well coated.

Notes

For a lighter sauce, substitute half-and-half. This recipe can also be adapted using shrimp or mushrooms instead of chicken.
