- 2 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Fresh chopped parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Prep the chicken by slicing each breast in half horizontally or pounding to an even thickness. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat and sear the chicken for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
- Lower the heat, add butter to the skillet, and sauté minced garlic until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
- Pour in the heavy cream, stir to deglaze the pan, and add Parmesan cheese. Allow the mixture to simmer and thicken slightly.
- Return the chicken to the skillet and let it simmer in the sauce for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through and well coated.
Notes
For a lighter sauce, substitute half-and-half. This recipe can also be adapted using shrimp or mushrooms instead of chicken.
