- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 2 cups carrots, sliced
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups milk
- 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (optional for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Lightly steam the cauliflower, broccoli, and carrots until just tender, about 5-7 minutes.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1 minute until lightly golden.
- Gradually whisk in the milk and bring to a simmer, stirring until thickened.
- Remove from heat and stir in the cheese until melted, then season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the steamed vegetables with the cheese sauce until well coated.
- Transfer to a baking dish and top with breadcrumbs if desired.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until bubbling and golden brown.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
