Ingredients
Scale
- 400 grams Firm Tofu
- 4 tablespoons Honey (or maple syrup for a vegan option)
- 4 cloves Garlic, minced
- 3 tablespoons Soy Sauce
- 1/2 cup Cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons Sesame Oil
- 2 Green Onions, chopped
- 2 tablespoons Sesame Seeds
- Vegetable Oil, for frying (about 1 cup)
Instructions
- Drain and press the firm tofu for about 15-20 minutes.
- Cut the tofu into uniform bite-sized cubes.
- In a small bowl, combine honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, and sesame oil.
- Evenly coat each tofu cube with cornstarch.
- In a skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
- Carefully fry the tofu cubes until golden brown and crispy, roughly 3-4 minutes per side.
- Remove the tofu and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.
- Pour the honey garlic sauce into the skillet and let it simmer for about a minute.
- Gently toss the crispy tofu in the sauce until evenly coated.
Notes
For a vegan option, use maple or agave syrup instead of honey. Ensure that tofu is thoroughly pressed for maximum crispiness.
