Description

A delightful dish that marries crispy tofu with a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 400 grams Firm Tofu
  • 4 tablespoons Honey (or maple syrup for a vegan option)
  • 4 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons Soy Sauce
  • 1/2 cup Cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons Sesame Oil
  • 2 Green Onions, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons Sesame Seeds
  • Vegetable Oil, for frying (about 1 cup)

Instructions

  1. Drain and press the firm tofu for about 15-20 minutes.
  2. Cut the tofu into uniform bite-sized cubes.
  3. In a small bowl, combine honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, and sesame oil.
  4. Evenly coat each tofu cube with cornstarch.
  5. In a skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
  6. Carefully fry the tofu cubes until golden brown and crispy, roughly 3-4 minutes per side.
  7. Remove the tofu and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.
  8. Pour the honey garlic sauce into the skillet and let it simmer for about a minute.
  9. Gently toss the crispy tofu in the sauce until evenly coated.

Notes

For a vegan option, use maple or agave syrup instead of honey. Ensure that tofu is thoroughly pressed for maximum crispiness.
