- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups white sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup sugar (for rolling)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a small bowl, stir together flour, baking soda, and baking powder.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Roll rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into small balls and coat in sugar.
- Place sugar-coated balls on ungreased cookie sheets with space between them.
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes until edges are golden but centers are soft.
- Allow cookies to cool on wire racks.
