This Dump-and-Bake Chicken Parmesan Casserole brings all the classic flavors of Chicken Parmesan into an easy, one-pan dish. With tender chicken, marinara sauce, mozzarella, and Parmesan baked to bubbly perfection, it’s a busy-night lifesaver.
Ingredients
1 ½ pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs, cut into 1-inch pieces
1 (24-ounce) jar marinara sauce
1 (14.5-ounce) can diced tomatoes, undrained
1 teaspoon dried oregano
½ teaspoon garlic powder
¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
¼ cup fresh basil, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
2. In the dish, combine chicken, marinara sauce, diced tomatoes, oregano, garlic powder, and optional red pepper flakes. Stir gently to coat chicken.
3. Sprinkle about ⅔ of the mozzarella cheese evenly over the chicken mixture.
4. Bake uncovered for 30–35 minutes, until chicken is cooked through and sauce is bubbly.
5. Remove from oven and sprinkle with remaining mozzarella cheese and all Parmesan cheese.
6. Return to oven for 5–10 minutes until cheese is melted, golden, and bubbly.
7. Let rest 5 minutes before serving.
8. Garnish with fresh basil.
Notes
Stir in fresh spinach during the last 10 minutes for added greens.
Add sautéed mushrooms or canned mushrooms for earthy flavor.
Use cayenne pepper or smoked paprika for extra spice.
Mix in cream cheese or ricotta for a creamier sauce.
Add 1 cup uncooked short pasta plus ½ cup extra liquid to make it a pasta bake.
Customize with olives, roasted red peppers, or your favorite add-ins.
