- 1 lb (450g) ground beef
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1-inch piece ginger, minced
- ¼ cup soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- ½ cup beef broth
- 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 tbsp cornstarch (mixed with 2 tbsp water)
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- ½ cup green onions, chopped
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds (for garnish)
Instructions
- Boil the noodles according to the package instructions, then drain and set aside.
- In a large pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it into small pieces.
- Add minced garlic and ginger, cooking for an additional minute until fragrant.
- In a bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, beef broth, and hoisin sauce. Pour into the pan with the beef, stirring until well coated.
- Add the cornstarch slurry to thicken the sauce, simmer for a few minutes until glossy.
- Toss the cooked noodles with the beef mixture until well coated.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
Notes
For a gluten-free option, use tamari instead of soy sauce. You can also customize the recipe with different vegetables and protein sources.
