- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 2–4 tablespoons milk
- 1 tablespoon light corn syrup or honey
- 1 teaspoon vanilla, almond, peppermint, or coconut extract
- Food coloring (optional)
Instructions
- Gather your supplies: medium bowl, whisk or spoon, and piping bag or knife.
- Combine 2 cups of powdered sugar in the bowl.
- Add 2 tablespoons of milk to the powdered sugar.
- Mix in 1 tablespoon of light corn syrup or honey.
- Add 1 teaspoon of your chosen extract for flavor.
- Mix until smooth, adding more milk if too thick.
- If desired, divide icing into bowls and add food coloring.
- Decorate your cookies using the prepared icing.
- Let the decorated cookies sit at room temperature to harden for a few hours.
Notes
Store any leftover icing in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Allow to come to room temperature before use and adjust consistency with milk if needed.
