Ingredients

  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 24 tablespoons milk
  • 1 tablespoon light corn syrup or honey
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla, almond, peppermint, or coconut extract
  • Food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. Gather your supplies: medium bowl, whisk or spoon, and piping bag or knife.
  2. Combine 2 cups of powdered sugar in the bowl.
  3. Add 2 tablespoons of milk to the powdered sugar.
  4. Mix in 1 tablespoon of light corn syrup or honey.
  5. Add 1 teaspoon of your chosen extract for flavor.
  6. Mix until smooth, adding more milk if too thick.
  7. If desired, divide icing into bowls and add food coloring.
  8. Decorate your cookies using the prepared icing.
  9. Let the decorated cookies sit at room temperature to harden for a few hours.

Notes

Store any leftover icing in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Allow to come to room temperature before use and adjust consistency with milk if needed.
