Description

Crispy wontons filled with seasoned beef, melty cheese, and your favorite taco toppings, perfect for busy weeknights or gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 24 wonton wrappers
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 (14.5 oz.) can of petite diced tomatoes, drained
  • 1¼ cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ of a white onion, diced
  • 1 Tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • Optional toppings: sour cream, guacamole, chopped cilantro, diced tomatoes

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F and spray a 12-cup muffin tin with cooking spray.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté diced onions until tender, then add ground beef and seasonings. Cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Stir in the drained diced tomatoes and cook until liquid is mostly absorbed, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Place one wonton wrapper in each muffin cup. Add a layer of cheese, followed by another wonton wrapper. Spoon in the beef mixture and top with remaining cheese.
  5. Bake for 13-17 minutes, until wontons are golden and crispy, and cheese is melted.
  6. Run a knife around each cup to loosen and top with garnishes. Serve immediately.

Notes

Customize by using ground turkey, chicken, or plant-based meat options. For extra crispy edges, bake the full time and adjust seasonings to your taste.
