Scale
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 oz high-quality dark chocolate (60% cocoa)
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, warm the whole milk and heavy cream until just below boiling.
  2. Add chopped dark chocolate to the mixture, stirring continuously until fully melted and smooth.
  3. Stir in sugar and vanilla extract until dissolved; taste and adjust sweetness if desired.
  4. Whisk or use an electric frother to create a light froth.
  5. Pour into mugs and top with whipped cream or marshmallows, if desired.

Notes

Choose high-quality chocolate for the best flavor. Adjust sweetness by adding more or less sugar based on your preference. You can make it dairy-free by substituting with non-dairy milk.
