Ingredients

  • 1 cup white rice
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) French onion soup
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (e.g., mozzarella or Swiss)
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté until translucent.
  3. Add ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned. Drain the excess fat.
  4. Stir in the rice, beef broth, and French onion soup. Mix well and season with salt and pepper.
  5. Pour the mixture into a baking dish and top with shredded cheese.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 25-30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
