- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup white rice
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 can (10.5 oz) French onion soup
- 1 cup shredded cheese (e.g., mozzarella or Swiss)
- 1 onion, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté until translucent.
- Add ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned. Drain the excess fat.
- Stir in the rice, beef broth, and French onion soup. Mix well and season with salt and pepper.
- Pour the mixture into a baking dish and top with shredded cheese.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25-30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. Can be reheated in the microwave or oven, and can be frozen for longer storage.
