A fluffy and flavorful Garlic Parmesan Focaccia Bread that’s perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2¼ teaspoons instant yeast (1 packet)
  • 1½ teaspoons salt
  • 1½ cups warm water (about 110°F)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • ¼ cup extra virgin olive oil (plus more for greasing)
  • 34 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs or chopped rosemary (optional)
  • Flaky sea salt for topping

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, stir together the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add the flour and salt to the foamy yeast mixture and mix until a sticky dough forms.
  3. Coat the dough with olive oil, cover the bowl, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 to 1.5 hours until doubled in size.
  4. Grease a 9×13-inch pan with olive oil.
  5. In a small pan, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil with the minced garlic over low heat until fragrant, about 1 minute. Remove from heat.
  6. Transfer the risen dough to the prepared pan and stretch it to fit. Let it rise again for another 30-45 minutes.
  7. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  8. Dimple the dough, brush with garlic oil, and top with Parmesan cheese, herbs or rosemary, and flaky sea salt.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Let it cool in the pan for 5-10 minutes, then cut into squares and serve warm.

Notes

For best results, ensure your yeast is fresh and measure the flour accurately to avoid dense bread. Customize toppings to your preference.
