Description

A fun twist on the classic grilled cheese sandwich, these roll-ups are easy to make, kid-friendly, and perfect for a quick snack or meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 810 slices of soft white sandwich bread (crusts removed)
  • 810 slices of your favorite melting cheese (Cheddar, American, Monterey Jack, Colby Jack, Provolone)
  • 45 tablespoons of unsalted butter (softened or melted)
  • Optional: 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (for butter), pinch of paprika (for cheese), dried Italian herbs (for seasoning)

Instructions

  1. Flatten each slice of bread with a rolling pin until about 1/16 to 1/8 inch thick.
  2. Place a slice of cheese along one edge of the flattened bread, leaving a small border on sides.
  3. Spread an even layer of butter over the surface of the bread if using softened butter.
  4. Roll the bread tightly from the cheese edge, sealing the seam.
  5. Place the roll-ups seam-side down in a preheated skillet and cook for 2-4 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Turn the roll-ups and cook for another 1-2 minutes per side until all sides are crispy and cheese is melted.
  7. Serve immediately with dipping sauces if desired.

Notes

For best results, use fresh, soft bread and avoid over-filling the cheese.
