- 1 lb ground beef
- 4 medium potatoes, sliced
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup shredded cheese (e.g., cheddar)
- 1 onion, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet, cook the ground beef and chopped onion over medium-high heat until browned, about 5 to 7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
- In a greased casserole dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes at the bottom.
- Spread the cooked beef and onion mixture over the first layer of potatoes.
- Pour the cream of mushroom soup over the beef layer and spread it evenly.
- Add the remaining sliced potatoes on top, seasoning with salt and pepper.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil, sprinkle shredded cheese on top, and bake for an additional 15 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
Customize with extra vegetables or different cheeses for variety. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
