Description

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 medium potatoes, sliced
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (e.g., cheddar)
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook the ground beef and chopped onion over medium-high heat until browned, about 5 to 7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  3. In a greased casserole dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes at the bottom.
  4. Spread the cooked beef and onion mixture over the first layer of potatoes.
  5. Pour the cream of mushroom soup over the beef layer and spread it evenly.
  6. Add the remaining sliced potatoes on top, seasoning with salt and pepper.
  7. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil, sprinkle shredded cheese on top, and bake for an additional 15 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  9. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Customize with extra vegetables or different cheeses for variety. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
