A hearty and comforting casserole layered with ground beef, potatoes, and cheese, perfect for families.

- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 4–5 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup beef broth or water
- 1/4 cup milk (optional)
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned (about 5-7 minutes).
- Add onion and garlic, and cook for another 3-4 minutes until the onion is soft.
- Layer the potatoes on top of the beef, seasoning with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and paprika.
- Sprinkle the cheeses over the beef, and pour the broth or water around the edges.
- Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until potatoes are tender and cheese is bubbly.
- Garnish with parsley and serve hot.
Notes
For added flavor, consider adding bell peppers or carrots. Leftover vegetables can also be added to enhance the dish.
