Description

Delicious sushi rolls filled with shrimp, avocado, and cucumber, featuring a spicy kick from sriracha.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups sushi rice
  • 4 sheets nori (seaweed)
  • 1 cucumber, sliced into thin strips
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 1 cup cooked shrimp or crab meat
  • 2 tbsp sriracha sauce
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Rinse the sushi rice until the water runs clear.
  2. Cook the sushi rice according to package instructions, then season with rice vinegar, sugar, and salt.
  3. Prepare the fillings by slicing cucumber and avocado.
  4. Set up a bamboo sushi mat covered with plastic wrap.
  5. Place nori shiny side down on the mat.
  6. Wet hands and spread sushi rice on nori, covering two-thirds of the sheet.
  7. Layer shrimp or crab, cucumber, avocado, and drizzle sriracha in the center.
  8. Roll the sushi tightly away from you using the mat.
  9. Slice the roll into eight pieces with a knife dipped in water.
  10. Serve with soy sauce, wasabi, pickled ginger, and optionally garnish with sesame seeds.

Notes

Practice rolling tightly for best results. Use fresh ingredients for optimal flavor.
