Ingredients

- 500 g chicken breast fillet, cut into strips
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons mustard (mild or sweet)
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 garlic clove, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon paprika powder
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley or chives for garnish
- 250 g basmati or jasmine rice
- 500 ml water
- 1 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Cook the rice: Rinse rice under cold water. In a saucepan, add rice, water, and salt; bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes. Remove from heat and let sit covered for 5 minutes. Fluff with a fork.
- Marinate the chicken: In a bowl, combine honey, mustard, soy sauce, garlic, paprika, salt, and pepper. Add chicken strips and coat well; let sit for at least 15 minutes.
- Cook the chicken: Heat olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add chicken strips and cook for 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Let it rest for a few minutes.
- Serve by placing a serving of rice on each plate and adding the chicken on top or beside. Drizzle with leftover marinade and garnish with parsley or chives.
Notes
For best flavor, marinate the chicken longer. Adjust seasoning to your taste.
