Description

Homemade mozzarella sticks are crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside, making them a fun snack or delicious appetizer for any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons sea salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups Panko
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • 12 ounces low moisture mozzarella cheese, cut into pieces (3-inch x ¾ inch)
  • Homemade marinara, for dipping
  • 1 quart vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Mix the flour, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder in a shallow bowl.
  2. Beat the eggs in a separate bowl.
  3. Combine Panko and Italian seasoning in a third bowl.
  4. Coat each mozzarella stick in flour, dip it in the eggs, and roll it in the Panko mixture.
  5. Freeze the coated sticks for at least 30 minutes.
  6. Heat the oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F (190°C).
  7. Fry the sticks in batches until golden, about 30 seconds per side.
  8. Drain on paper towels and serve with marinara sauce.

Notes

Ensure to freeze the mozzarella sticks before frying to maintain their shape. Use Panko for extra crunch and fry in small batches for even cooking.
