Description

A delicious twist on the traditional dessert, combining zesty lemon curd and creamy whipped cream in a crunchy cannoli shell, topped with toasted meringue.


Ingredients

  • 12 cannoli shells
  • 1 cup lemon curd
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • Zest of 1 lemon

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
  2. Fold in the lemon curd gently until combined.
  3. Using a piping bag, fill the cannoli shells with the lemon mixture.
  4. In a separate bowl, whip egg whites and cream of tartar until soft peaks form.
  5. Gradually add granulated sugar and whip until stiff peaks form to create meringue.
  6. Pipe meringue on top of the filled cannoli shells and use a kitchen torch to toast the meringue lightly.
  7. Garnish with lemon zest and serve immediately.

Notes

Best enjoyed fresh for maximum crunch. Store filled shells and meringue separately for optimal texture.
