Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup homemade icing (made from powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and baking powder.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until smooth and fluffy (2-3 minutes).
  4. Add the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract to the creamed mixture and mix until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring gently until a dough forms.
  6. Roll small amounts of dough into balls and place on a lined baking sheet, spacing them apart. Flatten each ball slightly.
