- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups white sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup homemade icing (made from powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla)
- Sprinkles for decoration
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and baking powder.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until smooth and fluffy (2-3 minutes).
- Add the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract to the creamed mixture and mix until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring gently until a dough forms.
- Roll small amounts of dough into balls and place on a lined baking sheet, spacing them apart. Flatten each ball slightly.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes until the edges are lightly golden. Remove and cool on a wire rack.
- Drizzle the cookies with homemade icing and top with colorful sprinkles.
Notes
For a unique twist, experiment with different flavors or add chocolate chips and nuts.
