Ingredients

- 180 g all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon matcha powder
- 1 tablespoon milk powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 115 g unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
- 150 g granulated sugar
- 1 large egg, at room temperature
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 100 g white chocolate, roughly chopped (with an extra handful for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Whisk together the flour, matcha powder, milk powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a small bowl.
- In a large bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy, then gradually add in the sugar and mix until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add the room temperature egg and vanilla extract into the mixture, mixing until fully combined.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter-sugar mixture, mixing just until combined.
- Fold in the chopped white chocolate gently using a spatula.
- Scoop the dough onto the baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches between each scoop.
- Bake the cookies for 12-14 minutes, until the edges are set and the center is soft.
- Cool on the baking sheet for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For variations, you can substitute white chocolate for dark chocolate or add nuts for extra crunch.
