Description
A quick and delicious one-pot meal combining ground beef, elbow macaroni, and rich tomato sauce, perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef (lean or regular)
- 2 cups elbow macaroni
- 2 cups tomato sauce
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups beef broth or water
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 cup shredded cheese (optional, such as mozzarella, cheddar, or Italian blend)
Instructions
- Heat a large pot over medium heat. Add ground beef, diced onion, and minced garlic, breaking up the beef as it cooks until browned and onions are translucent.
- Pour in the tomato sauce and beef broth (or water). Sprinkle in Italian seasoning and stir well.
- Add elbow macaroni, ensuring it’s mostly submerged in the sauce and liquid mixture.
- Increase heat to bring to a gentle boil.
- Reduce heat to a simmer and cover the pot, cooking for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Check if pasta is tender and stir in shredded cheese for a creamier texture, allowing it to melt.
Notes
Garnish with fresh herbs or serve with a side salad and garlic bread for added flavor.
