Description

Deliciously crispy Onion Ring Chips perfect for snacks or sides, customizable with your favorite seasonings.


Ingredients

  • 2 large onions sliced into 1/4-inch rings
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 cups panko breadcrumbs
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, combine flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  3. In another bowl, pour the buttermilk.
  4. Dip each onion ring into the buttermilk, then coat it in the flour mixture.
  5. Return the coated onion ring to the buttermilk, then dredge it in the panko breadcrumbs.
  6. Place the coated onion rings into the hot oil, frying in batches for 2-3 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain excess oil on a paper towel-lined plate.
  8. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

Best served hot and fresh. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
