- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1 and 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 and 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup boiling water
- 15–20 Oreo cookies (crushed)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Whisk until well combined.
- Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix on medium speed for about 2 minutes.
- Carefully stir in the boiling water until the batter is thin.
- Gently fold in the crushed Oreo cookies.
- Pour the batter into prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cakes cool in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Serve with your favorite frosting and additional crushed Oreos for decoration.
Notes
Store leftovers in plastic wrap or an airtight container; cake lasts about 3 to 4 days at room temperature or 2 to 3 months in the freezer.
