- 1/2 cup whole milk (divided)
- 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 4 oz. cream cheese (softened)
- 8 oz. whipped topping/Cool Whip
- 24 crushed Oreos
Instructions
- Begin by melting 8 oz. of milk or semi-sweet melting chocolate in a medium saucepan with 4 tablespoons of whole milk over medium heat. Stir frequently until melted.
- Allow the melted chocolate to cool for about 5 to 10 minutes until cool to touch but still thickened.
- In a mixing bowl, mix 4 oz. of softened cream cheese and 3 tablespoons of granulated sugar until smooth and creamy.
- Slowly pour the cooled chocolate mixture into the cream cheese and sugar mixture, stirring thoroughly until well combined.
- Fold in 8 oz. of whipped topping or Cool Whip gently until creamy and smooth.
- Layer the dessert in small cups or a trifle bowl: start with a layer of crushed Oreos, followed by a layer of chocolate mousse, and then another layer of whipped topping. Repeat until cups or bowl are filled.
- Serve immediately or refrigerate for up to 24 hours. Assemble layers just before serving for best flavor and texture.
