Description
A simple yet gourmet pan-seared steak recipe enriched with a garlic butter sauce that elevates the dish to perfection.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 ribeye steaks
- Salt
- Black pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, crushed
- Fresh herbs (such as thyme or rosemary)
Instructions
- Remove the ribeye steaks from the refrigerator and let them sit at room temperature for 30 minutes. Pat the steaks dry and season generously with salt and black pepper.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add 2 tablespoons of olive oil until it shimmers.
- Add the seasoned steaks to the hot skillet and sear for 4-5 minutes without moving them. Flip the steaks and sear the other side for another 4-5 minutes for medium-rare.
- In the last minute of cooking, add the unsalted butter, crushed garlic, and fresh herbs to the skillet.
- Baste the steaks with the melted garlic butter using a spoon.
- Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest for 5-10 minutes.
- Slice the steak against the grain and serve with the remaining garlic butter sauce drizzled over the top.
Notes
For an excellent sear, ensure the skillet is hot enough before adding the steaks.
