Description

A sweet and crunchy treat combining toasted pecans with a buttery candy coating, perfect for holidays or as a gift.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Spread chopped pecans evenly on a baking sheet and toast for 8-10 minutes until fragrant.
  3. In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, butter, corn syrup, and salt; stir over medium heat until boiling.
  4. Let the mixture boil for 4-5 minutes until it reaches a light amber color, then remove from heat.
  5. Stir in the vanilla extract cautiously.
  6. Mix in the toasted pecans until fully coated.
  7. Pour the mixture onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and spread it evenly.
  8. Allow to cool completely, then break into pieces.
