Ingredients

  • 1215 frozen potstickers
  • 4 cups chicken broth (or vegetable broth for vegetarian option)
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 teaspoons grated ginger
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 23 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms (optional)
  • 1/2 cup spinach or bok choy (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon chili oil or red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, pour in the chicken or vegetable broth. Set it over medium heat. Add the soy sauce, sesame oil, grated ginger, and minced garlic. Stir to combine.
  2. If using mushrooms and leafy greens, add them to the pot. Stir into the broth and let it come to a gentle simmer.
  3. Once the broth is simmering, carefully add the frozen potstickers. Cook for about 5-8 minutes, or according to package instructions.
  4. Taste the broth to see if it needs salt or pepper. Add rice vinegar or spices as desired.
  5. After the potstickers are cooked through, turn off the heat. Ladle the soup into bowls and garnish with chopped green onions.

Notes

Feel free to experiment with broth types and add cooked chicken or tofu for extra protein. Don’t let potstickers overcook to avoid mushiness.
