A comforting and creamy shrimp casserole that’s easy to make, perfect for family dinners or gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds large shrimp (21–24 count), peeled and deveined
- 1 tablespoon Old Bay seasoning
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 2/3 cup mayonnaise
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon butter, plus more to grease the pan
- 1/2 cup panko bread crumbs
- 4 ounces shredded mozzarella cheese
- 4 ounces shredded medium cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 2 1/2 quart casserole dish with butter.
- In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil and add Old Bay seasoning.
- Add the shrimp and cook until opaque (about 30 seconds). Drain and transfer to a bowl.
- Add mayonnaise, garlic powder, and pepper to the bowl; stir to coat the shrimp well.
- Add shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese to the mixture and stir again, then transfer to the casserole dish.
- Melt some butter in a pan, stir in panko bread crumbs, and sprinkle over the shrimp.
- Bake uncovered for 13-15 minutes or until the center reaches 145°F. Broil for 1-2 minutes for a crispy top.
- Allow the casserole to rest for 15 minutes before serving.
Notes
Use fresh shrimp for the best flavor; frozen shrimp can be used if thawed properly. For extra flavor, consider adding jalapeños or cayenne pepper.
