Description

A creamy and cheesy shrimp casserole that’s easy to prepare and perfect for family gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 2 pounds large shrimp (2124 count), peeled and deveined
  • 1 tablespoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon salt (for cooking water)
  • 2/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon butter (plus more to grease the pan)
  • 1/2 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 4 ounces shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 4 ounces shredded medium cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 2 1/2 quart casserole dish with butter.
  2. In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil and add Old Bay seasoning.
  3. Add the shrimp to the boiling water and cook until they turn opaque, about 30 seconds. Drain and transfer to a bowl.
  4. Add mayonnaise, garlic powder, and black pepper to the shrimp and stir to coat evenly.
  5. Mix in shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese.
  6. Transfer the shrimp mixture to the prepared casserole dish.
  7. Melt butter and mix with panko bread crumbs. Sprinkle evenly over the shrimp.
  8. Bake uncovered for 13-15 minutes, or until the center reaches 145°F. Broil for 1-2 minutes to brown the crumbs, if desired.
  9. Let the casserole rest for 15 minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve with a side salad or crusty bread, and a squeeze of fresh lemon juice for added flavor.
