Description
A quick and comforting pasta dish tossed with fresh broccoli, garlic, and optional parmesan cheese.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz spaghetti or pasta of your choice
- 2 cups broccoli florets (fresh or frozen)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Parmesan cheese for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the pasta in a large pot of boiling salted water until al dente. About 2-3 minutes before the cooking time is up, add in the broccoli florets. Drain both together and set aside.
- While the pasta and broccoli drain, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sautéing just until fragrant (about 1-2 minutes).
- Add the drained pasta and broccoli to the skillet, tossing everything together gently. Season with salt and pepper to your liking.
- Serve warm in bowls, topped with a generous sprinkle of parmesan cheese if desired.
Notes
For a more hearty dish, consider adding cooked chicken or chickpeas. Feel free to substitute broccoli with asparagus or spinach.
