Description

A quick and comforting pasta dish tossed with fresh broccoli, garlic, and optional parmesan cheese.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz spaghetti or pasta of your choice
  • 2 cups broccoli florets (fresh or frozen)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Parmesan cheese for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta in a large pot of boiling salted water until al dente. About 2-3 minutes before the cooking time is up, add in the broccoli florets. Drain both together and set aside.
  2. While the pasta and broccoli drain, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sautéing just until fragrant (about 1-2 minutes).
  3. Add the drained pasta and broccoli to the skillet, tossing everything together gently. Season with salt and pepper to your liking.
  4. Serve warm in bowls, topped with a generous sprinkle of parmesan cheese if desired.

Notes

For a more hearty dish, consider adding cooked chicken or chickpeas. Feel free to substitute broccoli with asparagus or spinach.
