Ingredients

- 2 lbs beef (such as chuck roast)
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup sesame oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 inch ginger, grated
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon water
- Green onions, for garnish
- Sesame seeds, for garnish
Instructions
- In a slow cooker, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and beef broth.
- Add the beef and coat it in the sauce.
- Cover and cook on low for 360-480 minutes or until the beef is tender.
- Once done, remove the beef and shred it.
- In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water, then add it to the slow cooker and stir to thicken the sauce.
- Return the shredded beef to the slow cooker and stir to combine.
- Serve over rice and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
Notes
For added flavor, marinate the beef in the sauce for a few hours or overnight. For spice, add red pepper flakes to the sauce.
