A tender and juicy dish packed with rich, savory flavors, made effortlessly in a slow cooker.


Ingredients

  • 2 lbs beef (such as chuck roast)
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup sesame oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • Green onions, for garnish
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a slow cooker, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and beef broth.
  2. Add the beef and coat it in the sauce.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 360-480 minutes or until the beef is tender.
  4. Once done, remove the beef and shred it.
  5. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water, then add it to the slow cooker and stir to thicken the sauce.
  6. Return the shredded beef to the slow cooker and stir to combine.
  7. Serve over rice and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

For added flavor, marinate the beef in the sauce for a few hours or overnight. For spice, add red pepper flakes to the sauce.
