Ingredients

- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- Additional granulated sugar for rolling
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
- Mix in the sour cream until fully blended.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll them into balls, then coat in granulated sugar.
- Place the dough balls on a parchment-lined baking sheet, flattening each cookie slightly.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week. Can also be frozen for up to three months.
