Description

A comforting and delicious dish made with jumbo pasta shells filled with a creamy ricotta and spinach mixture, topped with marinara and mozzarella cheese.


Ingredients

  • 20 jumbo pasta shells
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup fresh spinach, chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the jumbo pasta shells according to the package instructions until they are al dente. Drain them and set aside.
  3. In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, chopped spinach, egg, Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until well blended.
  4. Carefully stuff each cooked pasta shell with the ricotta and spinach mixture.
  5. Spread a layer of marinara sauce at the bottom of a baking dish.
  6. Place the stuffed shells in the dish and pour the remaining marinara sauce over the top.
  7. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
  8. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  9. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  10. Garnish with fresh basil if desired, and serve hot.

Notes

For variations, consider adding cooked ground meat or extra vegetables to the filling. Use gluten-free pasta shells for a gluten-free version.
