Instructions
- Beat the softened butter in a large mixing bowl until creamy and smooth, about 2-3 minutes on medium speed.
- Gradually add powdered sugar, one cup at a time, mixing until well combined and thick.
- Pour in milk and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth. Adjust consistency with more milk if needed.
- Divide frosting into small bowls and add food coloring as desired, mixing until colors are even.
- Frost cooled cookies using a knife or spatula. Let the frosting set before serving.

Store leftover frosting in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week, or freeze for up to three months.
