Description

A simple, creamy frosting perfect for sugar cookies and other baked goods, easily customizable with colors and flavors.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. Beat the softened butter in a large mixing bowl until creamy and smooth, about 2-3 minutes on medium speed.
  2. Gradually add powdered sugar, one cup at a time, mixing until well combined and thick.
  3. Pour in milk and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth. Adjust consistency with more milk if needed.
  4. Divide frosting into small bowls and add food coloring as desired, mixing until colors are even.
  5. Frost cooled cookies using a knife or spatula. Let the frosting set before serving.

Notes

Store leftover frosting in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week, or freeze for up to three months.
