Description

Delicious and chewy sugar cookies that are perfect for any occasion. Easy to make and great for decorating!


Ingredients

  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup sugar for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix together flour, baking soda, and baking powder. Whisk to combine.
  3. In another bowl, cream together softened butter and white sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract.
  5. Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined, avoiding over-mixing.
  6. Roll rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into small balls and coat each in sugar.
  7. Arrange cookie balls on ungreased baking pans, spaced about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, until the edges are golden brown.
  9. Allow to cool on wire racks before serving.

Notes
