Ingredients

- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg, at room temperature
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Mix butter and sugar until fluffy.
- Add egg and extracts, beat until smooth.
- Gradually incorporate flour and salt to create a smooth dough.
- Chill dough covered in the refrigerator for at least one hour.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Roll out chilled dough to 1/4 inch thick.
- Cut into shapes and place on a lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes until soft.
- Cool on baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack.
