Ingredients

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 4 slices sourdough or white bread
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add the ground beef, breaking it apart as it cooks until browned.
  2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onion is translucent, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Season with salt and pepper, then add Worcestershire sauce and beef broth. Stir to combine.
  4. Simmer for about 5 minutes until the liquid reduces, keeping it moist but not soupy.
  5. Butter one side of each slice of bread with unsalted butter.
  6. Preheat another skillet over medium heat.
  7. Place two slices of bread butter side down in the hot skillet. Add cheddar cheese, beef mixture, and mozzarella cheese before topping with the other slices of bread, butter side up.
  8. Grill each side for 3-4 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  9. Remove from skillet, slice in half, and garnish with parsley if desired.
