- ½ cup packed light brown sugar

- 3 cups chocolate chips (semisweet and dark)
- 14 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted and slightly cooled)
- Extra chocolate chips for topping (optional)
- Flaky sea salt for topping (optional)
Instructions
- Mix the dry ingredients: Combine flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
- Prepare the wet ingredients: Mix melted butter with sugars, add eggs and vanilla, stirring until creamy.
- Combine and fold: Gently mix dry ingredients into wet until just combined, then fold in chocolate chips.
- Chill the dough: Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat and prep: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Scoop and shape: Scoop portions of dough into balls and place them on the baking sheet.
- Bake: Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until edges are golden but centers are slightly underbaked.
- Cool and set: Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
