- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- ¾ cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Whisk to mix.
- In a large bowl, cream the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well. Add vanilla and combine.
- Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and nuts.
- Scoop rounded balls of dough onto baking sheets, leaving space between them.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, until the edges are golden brown.
- Let cool on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
For soft cookies, store in an airtight container with a slice of bread. Chill the dough for better shape and flavor.
