Description

Classic homemade chocolate chip cookies that are warm, soft, and packed with chocolatey goodness.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Whisk to mix.
  3. In a large bowl, cream the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well. Add vanilla and combine.
  5. Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips and nuts.
  7. Scoop rounded balls of dough onto baking sheets, leaving space between them.
  8. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, until the edges are golden brown.
  9. Let cool on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For soft cookies, store in an airtight container with a slice of bread. Chill the dough for better shape and flavor.
