Description

A simple and flavorful chicken taco meat recipe made with just three ingredients, perfect for busy weeknights.


Ingredients

  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1/3 cup butter

Instructions

  1. Spray the inside of a small crock pot with cooking spray (optional).
  2. Place the chicken breasts in the crock pot.
  3. Sprinkle the taco seasoning evenly over the chicken breasts.
  4. Slice the butter into pats and arrange them on top of the seasoned chicken.
  5. Cover the crock pot and cook on Low for 5-7 hours or High for 3-4 hours.
  6. Let the chicken rest, covered, for 30-45 minutes if time allows.
  7. Shred the chicken using two forks, then serve with taco shells and your favorite toppings.

Notes

For spicier taco meat, consider adding diced jalapeños or a pinch of cayenne pepper. You can also include diced tomatoes or chicken broth for extra flavor.
