Description

Delicious and easy crockpot BBQ chicken that comes out tender and soaked in flavorful barbecue sauce, perfect for various dishes.


Ingredients

  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, with fat trimmed off
  • 1 1/4 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/2 cup Italian dressing
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Spray the inside of a large crockpot with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. Season your trimmed chicken breasts with salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder, and place them in the bottom of your crockpot.
  3. Add barbecue sauce, Italian dressing, light brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce in a mixing bowl, and whisk until combined.
  4. Pour the mixture evenly over the chicken breasts, place the lid on the crockpot, and cook on high for 150-180 minutes or low for 300-360 minutes.
  5. Check the chicken temperature to ensure it reaches 165°F.
  6. Shred the chicken or serve whole, then enjoy on buns or as a topping for various dishes.

Notes

For a spicier version, add hot sauce to the BBQ sauce mixture. You can also prepare the chicken and sauce in advance.
